Ever since I first heard about the new line from NYX Cosmetics, I knew I just had to have those Soft Matte Lip Creams. For those who don't already know, I am a huge matte-finish fan. Whether it be lipsticks, eyeshadows, blush, you name it, I love it matte! It's by far my most favorite finish. All I could do was stare in awe at swatches on blogs and youtube videos until I could catch them on sale. Thankfully it wasn't too long before Ulta had NYX items on sale, including these Soft Matte Lip Creams! I got these when they were 40% off. Regular price was 5.99 but I got them for about 3.59. I was too late at the time for Addis Ababa, which is the one color that I knew I needed lol. But right now Ulta is having a buy 2, get 1 free promo for these Lip Creams. So hurry on over there to pick these up if you're interested. I just placed my order for Addis Ababa, Antwerp & London and I can't wait to get them! I love how ulta always has coupons to use online and in-store. We don't have Ulta here in Hawaii so I'm glad to have been able to use their online coupon codes. I also like how you can choose 3 different samples with your order and they also threw in a catalog. :)

My Personal Experience: I just received these in the mail yesterday and like a kid on Christmas morning, I opened and swatched them in delight! lol. I just had to use one of them for my dinner date with my other half. I used Abu Dhabi and it is everything I imagined it would be. The shade reminds me of MAC's Velvet Teddy. This lip cream lasted me through dinner and a few drinks at the bar. After dinner I went to the ladies' room to touch-up (or so I thought I needed to) and was impressed to see that the lip cream stayed put through a very saucy pesto linquine dish and garlic butter rolls. I was already loving it! Today I've been wearing Instanbul since 8am and it is now 12:15pm and it's looking as great as it did when I first applied it this morning. I enjoy the doe-foot applicator, I find that it applies the product nicely and evenly. I also like the packaging, it's very simple and reminds me of the Smashbox PhotoFinish Lid Primer with the NARS-like material for the wand. I'm pleased to know that there are 11 shades to choose from which ensures that there is something for everyone. Do take caution when going by the color swatches from the NYX website. The one that looks nothing like the swatch on the website would be San Paulo. On the website, San Paulo looks more on the orangey/coral side but in actuality, it looked like what I imagined Addis Ababa (bright fuschia pink) would be. So I would suggest searching for other swatches on blogs and youtube to make a better decision on which shades to purchase.

Overall, this product has been everything that I imagined it to be and I'm completely in love. I can't wait to receive the other 3 shades that I just ordered. I know this review may sound like it's too good to be true but I am only being honest with my own experience and wouldn't rave so much about a product if it had failed me any way. One thing that I would recommend would be to exfoliate your lips prior to using these as it is a matte lip product, which is known to accentuate any dryness you may have on the lips. Also, I found that it applied more smoothly when I applied a light layer of lip balm underneath. If you are into matte lip products I would highly suggest these.

• Very lightweight creamy mousse-like formula feels as though you have nothing on your lips
• Long-lasting, 4+ hour wear
• Very pigmented and opaque
• Affordable price and if you can get them on sale, even better!
( - ) Cons:
• May accentuate dryness on lips if you don't exfoliate prior to application
• Not all website swatches are accurate

I ordered a few of these when NYX had their Japan Relief Fund but haven't used it yet. I actually didn't get to get all the colors I wanted b/c by the time I ordered, it was all sold out -_-
